I Am Legend trailer
I’m a big fan of the novel, and I do wish it looked like the movie was adhering more closely to it, but it still might be an interesting film.
Here’s the trailer. Disappointment warning: they don’t actually show any monsters.

I’ve got to say - I am a huge fan of apocalyptic flicks and this one has me excited. Any time you take a huge city and empty it out and leave the roads strewn with empty automolbiles like so many crushed cans, I get a real charge. Loved the look of the trailer and am really looking forward to this. A great teaser.
That first image was killer - with Will, his puppy and a rifle curled up in that bath tub.

I agree the trailer is effective…and I admit, I can’t think of a Will Smith movie I haven’t enjoyed (I even liked MIB2).
It will all depend on how the story plays out—for those who haven’t read the novel, the title represents a very specific theme. I’m guessing the film will have to deal with the theme if they’re using the title (it’s too weird a title otherwise). If they do a good job with that theme, the film will distinguish itself from Dawn of the Dead and 28 Days Later… and other recent films that have had similar premises.

I’ll continue my role as the resident skeptic about, well, everything. (Except for the Bourne Ultimatum, which I happily and thoroughly believe will kick ass from here to next Tuesday).)
I mean, I generally like Will Smith, and the trailer looks cool, but…it doesn’t really look like I Am Legend. It’s such a great story, I’d hate to see it get cocked up on the big screen.
Of course, I think they more or less cocked up LoTR too, so take that for what it’s worth.

I’m with Stone on this-and hey, Stone, if you want to see the story cocked up, I can show you the other two film versions.
